WHAT AM I IN FOR? As much or as little as you like! We're inviting newbies and people who are already 'thighs of steel' cyclists to join us for the few days we have in the UK. We've found a lovely route for the daytimes and really inspiring projects to stay in at night. All you need is a working bike, a couple of days free and a sleeping bag and roll mat.
THE PLAN: May 1st from 5pm: Join us for our launch party in Hackney Wick where you'll get the pleasure of meeting cyclists who are tackling different weeks along the way, and also, the pleasure of a 5 course meal, aerial and circus acts and live music. You buy your tickets directly through them here. May 1st sleeping: You're welcome to stay in our friends house a 2 minute walk away. Nothing fancy, just roll mats and sleeping bags. May 2nd cycling: We'll cycle 35 miles waving goodbye to London and hello to the countryside until we arrive at The Quadrangle Trust, a Victorian model farmstead built in 1870 which is now a centre for sustainable living and creative arts where we'll explore their beautiful place and cook a lovely dinner from our van-kitchen May 2nd sleeping: We're kindly being put up in their lovely attic dorm, a bed each, oh la la! May 3rd cycling: We'll cycle 40 miles through the sussex countryside until we arrive at Laughton Lodge, a 70 person housing co-op. We'll make another delicious van dinner and rest our tired legs. May 3rd sleeping: Yet to confirm whether we're camping or we're in their community hall on roll mats. Either will be great :) early start the next morning as we'll be speeding off to catch our ferry! It'll be a short cycle for you to the nearest train station.
THE MONEY: For thighs of steel cyclists: it's £15 a day and £10 a night For newbies: it's £25 a day and £20 a night Fundraising: A donation to Help Refugees is included in what you are paying. Newbies, if you'd like to fundraise more then we'll think you're super great, but there's no expectation.
