WHAT AM I IN FOR?
This is the one for people who are new to long distance cycling, or those who want to relax into the knowledge that we have the time to take the cycling at whatever pace feels right for the group. Our journey will be filled with cows and sheep cheering us on, copious amounts of cheese and garlicky food and bright yellow fields of rapeseed.
What makes this week particularly special is that we're arranging places to stay for every night of the trip, from permaculture farms to organic cider breweries, we'll have a lot to explore and learn about and interesting people to meet. We'll also have a mid-week skype with Khora, the organisation we're fundraising for, to hear more about their project and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
Cycling from one capital to another is an awesome thing to do. You will be challenged... your bum will hurt, your calves will ache, but you will complete it, and when we arrive in Paris, you will feel as mighty as the Eiffel Tower itself, and we will be sure to celebrate by stuffing our faces with food and wine to celebrate how far our heroic limbs have got us.
THE PLAN SO FAR
14th May - stay somewhere in London and cook a nice meal all together
15th May - cycle around 35 miles, sleep at The Quadrangle Trust, a victorian farmstead, now a centre for sustainability and arts.
16th May - cycle 40 miles, high fiving the sheep and staring at bluebells
17th May - a short cycle to the ferry, a longer cycle after the ferry
18th May - cycle about 40 miles
19th May - cycle about 35 miles, take a few hundred selfies in front of the Eiffel Tower, cook up an enormous meal and celebrate in our apartment in Paris.
20th May - catch the eurostar home, feeling tired, refreshed, and happy.
