WHAT AM I IN FOR?
This is the toughest week of cycling.
If 10,500m of uphill cycling isn't enough to scare you, remember we are going so high through the Alps that the air will be thinner, making everything harder, with the crossing over the Col du Mont Cenis at 2081m.
Especially strong thighs and minds will be required for this week. It is doable for anyone starting from a reasonable base level of fitness but only if you give yourself time to prepare for the ride. And it's worth remembering that despite being a full power week of cycling, this is not a competitive event. We'll work as a group, supporting each other all the way through.
In France we'll be cycling through the wild flowers of Spring into beautiful alpine landscapes with some epic views and stunning mountain passes. In Italy the hills will be more frequent and smaller but no less challenging with the climbs frequently exceeding 1000m as the route traverses and intersects the Italian alps through Piedmonte and rounding some of Italy’s northern lakes. Expect long climbs on the bike and fast descents on winding roads. 10km of steady uphill for a climb will be common. Expect every weather, a body that hurts, and an extremely rewarding week if you're a cycle lover, hellish if you're not.
May 27th - Fly/Train to Lyon, we'll scoop you up if you fly in, then we'll all cook up a feast and talk about the week ahead
May 28th - cycle really far
May 29th - This is Big Monday, not a day to be taken lightly. Be ready. Col du Mont Cenis climb.

June 1st - cycle really far, up and down. Maybe today, maybe before, just when our tired brains allow us to, we'll skype Khora, the organisation we're fundraising for, to hear more about their project and for you to have an opportunity to questions.
June 2nd - cycle really far, arrive in Milan with trembling thighs, eat copious amounts of pizza and ice creams and celebrate in our apartment in Milan
June 3rd - We'll drop you at the airport/train station for you to make your way home
