WHAT AM I IN FOR?
This is the cycle into the unknown. No one organising this trip has ever even been to most of the countries we'll cycle through. Bring on the adventure.
This is the week is for anyone who loves unpredictability, is ambivalent about a daily shower, wants a serious physical challenge, and who loves google translate.
We'll cycle through 4 countries in 1 week, Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and a lot of Croatia. We'll whizz through cities with stunning architecture, including Zadar, Sibenik, Split and Dubrovnik, and spend the rest of our time panting our way through lesser-travelled seaside villages and coastal roads.
Expect undulating roads and stunning views of the Adriatic and its islands from start to finish. Constant small - huge hills is a tiring terrain to cycle, so get fit and be ready. Luckily for us, a dip in the sea to cool tired muscles is never more than a freewheel away. Expect lots of wild camping on beaches, to sweat more than you thought was possible, and most of all...
Expect the unexpected.
THE PLAN SO FAR
10th June - Arrive in Trieste, we'll scoop you up from the airport/train station and head to our apartment to have an Italian-pasta-carb-loading-party and chat about the week ahead
11th June - cycle through Italy and Slovenia and maybe into Croatia
12th June - cycle really far
13th June - cycle really far
14th June - cycle really far
15th June - cycle really far, and maybe today, maybe another day, whenever our tired brains allow us, we'll skype Khora, the organisation we're fundraising for, to hear more about their project and for you to have an opportunity to questions.
16th June - cycle really far, arrive at our apartment in Dubrovnik and celebrate what our mighty thighs have achieved
17th June - we'll drop you off at the airport so you can fly home with your new fitter, tired body
